Commenting on today's budget day...
29 October 2018

Commenting on today’s budget, Managing Partner Tony Bullock……this is a budget for working families and it’s a positive one. This looks to be the end of austerity after eight years of hard work to get the country back on its feet. We have economic growth which is forecast to continue. The budget is putting money back into the economy for example £20 billion over five years to the NHS, funding into schools, the police and £1 billion on defence spending for the MOD. Hammond announced personal tax allowances to increase to £12,500 and a basic rate of £50,000 by next April, earlier than planned. Minimum wage is going up by 4.9% - so this really is all positive news. The news that the Annual Investment Allowance is to increase from £200,000 to £1 million is fantastic as businesses are encouraged to develop. Growth is forecast to continue. It was a good strong budget for all.
