Dutton Moore Trainee Flying High with Exam Success
4 November 2022

Congratulations to accountancy trainee Aaron Kemp who has completed his Certificate level exams of the ACA and is well on his way to studying to be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant after a successful start to his tenure in Dutton Moore’s in-house training scheme.

Aaron, 21, joined Dutton Moore Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers in Aldgate House, Market Place, Hull, in July 2021. Aaron, from West Hull, studied his A-Levels, including Accounting, at Wyke Sixth Form College and was keen to work during his professional training instead of the university route.

Whilst studying for his professional qualifications and having just passed his Financial Accounting and Reporting exam, one of the Professional ACA exams, Aaron is working as an Audit and Accounts Junior, under the supervision of Partner Doug Baker. He is preparing year end accounts, stock takes, bookkeeping and audits for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.

Aaron is the latest in years of progressive succession planning at the firm with new school leavers joining every summer and going on to qualify. The firm has a long history of investing in young local talent and has an enviable in-house training scheme backed up by the professional industry examinations. Scores of accountants and Partners at Dutton Moore joined straight from school, college and university and have gone on to forge very successful careers at the city centre practice.

Tony Bullock, Managing Partner, said: “I am delighted that Aaron has passed this first important stage in his accountancy career. He has already shown real talent and strong progression and it’s great to see him flying through his exams with success. I am certain his accountancy career will continue to flourish.

“We are constantly investing in our future. It’s important to stay local and work with local people – we have the talent here and it’s important to harness it. Investing in our city and ultimately in our firm is a priority for us at Dutton Moore. Wherever possible we want to promote within and nurture our top-grade staff.”

Aaron added: “I’m really pleased to have been given this opportunity after leaving college and delighted to have passed my ACA Certificate exam qualifications. I’m pleased I decided to take this route post A-Levels and get straight into my chosen career path. I look forward to the next stage and taking on more challenging roles within Dutton Moore.”
