Outstanding Long Service Awards...
18 July 2018

Dutton Moore is incredibly proud of our outstanding record of long service from our team members. Many of our staff and Partners have been with the firm for 30 plus years.

This week we would like to especially recognise two of our team members who have jointly worked for Dutton Moore for 82 years! What amazing service and we thank you.

Partnership Secretary Ken Abbott started at the firm in 1976 at the age of 19. He came from another accountancy firm in Hull and his initial role was a Junior. He progressed to Audit Senior which involved auditing limited company accounts for insurance brokers and solicitors. He has been Partnership Secretary since 2015.

Outstanding Long Service Awards

“I have evolved with the firm over the past 42 years and seen many changes. I enjoy the atmosphere of working both in the office and on site at clients premises and have made a considerable number of friends.”

This month Libby Lyon has completed 40 years’ service at Dutton Moore. She joined as an Office Junior at the age of 15 straight from South Hunsley School.

After her first year she progressed to Accounts Typist and secretary to Dudley Moore. She continued to work for Dudley until he sadly passed away in March this year. Her current role is Senior Accounts Typist, although she also covers reception duties and assists staff and Partners to maintain their professional qualification status through SWAT Courses.

Libby said: “I have seen the firm progress over the years, from using the always reliable Adler typewriter in the 70’s to the new computerised era which is a very welcome change from the days of carbon paper and Tipp-ex! I have always enjoyed job satisfaction and sometimes wonder where the years have gone.  The firm has a real family feel to it and I appreciate that I am very fortunate to work with such lovely people who I consider friends rather than colleagues.”

Managing Partner Tony Bullock commented: “Ken and Libby have given outstanding service to Dutton Moore. They remain an integral part of the team and I personally thank them both for their hard work and commitment to their roles and the firm.”

Congratulations and thank you to you both for your long and commendable service to Dutton Moore – enjoy your gifts!
